You may be a friendly face and/or a knowledgeable individual, but to be truly effective, you may experience achieving it with greater ease if you mirror who you engage with.
For example, if you are trying to secure a potential new client, ‘feel’ how they are talking. Are they talking about retrospective issues or are they speaking about the future? Do they tell you how they feel as a result of their situation or would it help for you to confirm this with them i.e. ‘I bet that must have been difficult for you?’. If you can capture their emotional state of mind as well as provide hardcore metrics to help create a remarkable solution to their problem, surely you have a better chance of standing out amongst your competitors?
Engage on a deeper level both emotionally and strategically. Connect as a human and be a positive light to those who seek it. You’ll be impressed on how much easier it is to achieve when you have others more on your side.
