Remarkability in Action: Barclays and Reading FC

Posting a congratulatory billboard poster in Reading to their football club and their fans is good PR – especially if you’re walking into the Town Centre where Barclays happen to be also. Most if not all football fans know who Barclays is, what they do, and they’ll bank with them when they’re ready (if at all) – no need to keep going on about how wonderful Barclays is as we are awash with high street banking advertisements already these days.

A more thoughtful approach to what matters to the reader as opposed to what matters to the company is something everyone should do once in a while – especially in the field of social networking.

Remarkability Factor: 7/10 because Barclays talked about something that mattered to most of their readers.
